Screened Porch with Open Deck

Our client has a lovely view in the rear of their home. They had a deck at one end of the house and wanted to add a screened porch at the other end that they could enjoy for 3 seasons of the year. To avoid blocking the view we used horizontal steel cable railing in the porch. We special order our screen since it is much more durable than the "home center" version. Next to the porch is an open deck designed to allow the client's favorite tree to grow through the deck. The new deck and porch are joined to the existing deck via a walkway so you can traverse freely between the decks. Other details include Trex decking, porch heaters and a finished ceiling. We use a real storm door on the porch for durability (rather than the wood/pvc porch doors that always seem to break).
