Arlington Basement - Structural Modifications

This 1930s Arlington basement was not usable living space. The stairs were steep and you would bump your head going down. A steel post sat in the middle of the space impacting usability. The office space was always cold and the entire basement was musty. The existing bathroom was a time warp to 1970s and broken. We designed a new code compliant staircase and moved the header back for full height. Installed a new beam and removed the center support column. Our HVAC team installed a dual head split system to heat and cool the space. New insulation throughout the basement. Open the concrete and install new plumbing for a powder room. Flooring is a mix of LVP and carpet.
