Garage Wall Repair

A family member hit the gas instead of the brake and drove into the wall between the garage doors pushing back the structure. When we arrived the only thing holding up the front wall were the tracks supporting the garage doors. We installed a temporary wall to support the garage roof then performed an evaluation project with our Structural Engineer. The roof trusses had not been damaged but the shock wave from the crash rippled through the garage and loosened the ceiling drywall which resulted in cracks in the joints. The repairs involved rebuilding the front wall, installing new garage doors/tracks, screwing in all of the ceiling drywall before painting and the really tricky part - matching a brick that was no longer available. Our mason masterfully colored the brick so it looked original to the house.
