Deck Furniture Repair

This homeowner has a lovely screened in porch and used to enjoy sitting out on their cedar lawn furniture in the evenings. Over the years the steel springs supporting the cushions had rusted away, making the furniture unusable. When she contacted us, her initial request was to install wood slates in place of the springs.

We raised the concern that this would be less comfortable than the old springs and asked if we could propose another alternative. After doing some research, we found a company that would sell us a roll of furniture webbing. It is the same material used to make the support for a sofa. We then created a frame inside the furniture and strung the new webbing.

The result was more comfortable than the original steel springs!
